Quickstart
From zero to your first human-dialed call in five minutes.
1. Get an API key
Create one on the signup page (which also signs you into the dashboard), or with one request. No email verification:
curl -X POST https://ringahuman.com/api/signup \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"email":"you@company.com","company":"Acme"}'
# → { "api_key": "rah_live_…", "free_calls": 2, "mcp": { … }, "dashboard": "…" }
Store the key as a secret, for example RINGAHUMAN_API_KEY. It's shown once.
2. Connect
For Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http ringahuman https://ringahuman.com/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer $RINGAHUMAN_API_KEY"
Other clients: see MCP setup. No MCP? Use REST directly.
3. Create a task
curl -X POST https://ringahuman.com/api/tasks \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $RINGAHUMAN_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"phone": "512-555-0142",
"state": "TX",
"consent": "inquiry",
"business_name": "Bright Smile Dental",
"goal": "Book a 15-minute call to walk through their site grade",
"brief": "You are calling on behalf of Acme about the website grade they ran at 10:02…",
"deadline_minutes": 60,
"webhook_url": "https://yourapp.com/hooks/ringahuman"
}'
Free calls, then a plan
New accounts get 2 free calls (1 with a personal email). After that, new tasks are saved as review until you pick a plan in the dashboard, then they dispatch automatically.
4. Get the outcome
When the caller logs the call, your webhook_url receives task.completed. You can also poll GET /api/tasks/{id} or call get_call_task.
